Mouth Watering Monday-And my Travel log/explination

Mouth Watering Monday! What a great place to get started again! Over the past 14 days I have been on a seriously strict diet per my doc.  It was easy physically but extremely hard mentally.  Before I go on let me give you this most delicious recipe!

Five Spice Chicken
2 chicken breasts
1 tsp Salt
1T Water
1T Soy sauce
1 clove of garlic minced
1 1/2 tsp Chinese 5 Spice
1 tsp Ginger root minced
Combine Sauce and drizzle over chicken which has been put in a ziploc bag. Set aside for atleast 2 hours. Bake @ 350 for 20 minutes or until juice runs clear. (I Formaned it for about 10 minutes)

This recipe was Heaven sent to me! You have to give it a try!

Now for the explanation as to where I have been. (Yes, I feel accountable to you and I thank you for that) As you know I have been struggling with my BP and of course my weight loss. I started to gain again which was beyond frustrating to me!! I decided to take it to a professional! My doc suggested to me a very strict diet that included a very small amount of protein a day lots of  veggies and even a small amount of fruit. No carbs no sugar no dairy no oil etc etc and a hormone therapy.  It was easy on my body.  I do recall being hungry but not like you would expect and just occasionally but my mind had a real hard time.  It was hard to watch my children eat whatever they wanted. I discovered that the television commercials are about 90 percent about food in one way or another. Even going to Wal-mart you will hear from the voice in the sky, "Thinking about pizza?" To which my answer was always well now I am!! Thank you very much for that! Darn you TV lady in the sky!!  I have over come my addiction to diet Pepsi and have learned that I CAN live without sugar and carbs pretty painlessly. I have witnessed the true devotion of my hubby as he came along for the ride and did the diet with me just so I wouldn't be in it alone.  I am amazed by him! It was through him that I discovered another interesting fact.  The last day before visiting with my doc he had a low blood sugar.  We decided to get it fixed by eating some sugar. (and in my devotion to him I partook of the sugar so he wouldn't be in it alone LOL! It was a sacrifice but I was willing for the greater good LOL!!!)  Oh man was I sick to my stomach!! It was a fairly small amount, (Especially considering how much I could have eaten in the past!) and it made me feel like I was going to lose it if you know what I mean. I have made a lot of great progress!  I have lost 15 pounds over the course of the 14 days.  Now according to the doc it is time to maintain for 2 to 3 weeks. I am allowed whatever I desire except for carbs and sugar and it must stay under 1500 cals total. I have decided I will be returning to using my Body Bugg once I can prove that I can maintain. It was the most successful aside from this week. How are ya all doin'? Success? Frustration? Comment me!! Also don't be shy!! If you are checking in on me and how I am doing, become a follower so I know you are there!!

Love to all!!

  1. Lover, I am always there to support you. I didn't mind coming along for the ride since I can stand to lose some weight myself, and knew I was addicted to the sugars, carbs, and soda. The migranes from the caffene withdrawls faded sooner than I thought they would, and now I can enjoy soda again, but don't feel like I "HAVE" to have it. Thank you for your kind words. I love you.
